When our good friend Dom was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease in 2017, Suzanna suggested a get together or ‘something’ for Dom. The ideas started and we formulated a plan.
Dom said nobody would join, but we had other ideas... and it became even bigger than we expected. We have now raised over £250,000!
Our friend... Dominic Subbiani
We are all connected within the property industry. Over the last 20-30 years, many of us have forged great friendships through industry groups, national conferences, social events, and training sessions across England & Wales. We represent various roles within the estate agency industry and associated supplier network, ranging from sales negotiators, valuers, and business development managers to software developers, family business owners, regional company directors, and PLC CEOs.
Following on from the success of raising over £250,000 between 2017 & 2021 the Do It For Dom Charity has now been established.
We continue to raise funds and focus on helping people within our industry suffering from or believed to be suffering from mental and physical health conditions. In particular supporting The Huntington’s Disease Association Charity. We also provide support to families, assisting with and funding home adaptations.
Huntington's Disease is a condition that damages nerve cells in the brain, causing them to malfunction. It's inherited from a person's parents and worsens over time. It affects movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgment), and mental health. Funds raised from this event will contribute to further research. 2018 saw the launch of our first event tackling Snowdon. Held over 2 days with 50 joining from the industry, we raised £70,000 through Just Giving for The Huntington’s Disease Association. View
2019 we doubled in size with 100 suppliers and agents canoeing 33 miles over 2 days on the River Wye. It was a testing challenge with so much fun. This event raised over £75,000 through Just Giving directly for Huntington’s Disease Association. View
2020 – 2022 due to covid we were forced to go quiet for large events but still managed a few smaller personal events raising in total over £44,000 in the two years. This included Suzanna climbing Kilimanjaro over Christmas, Kristian Byfield dressing as a Viking for events, Mark Bevan’s bike ride and a team of us taking part in the Agents Giving Dragon Boat Race.
On one of the hottest days of the year in May over 100 agents and suppliers raised £72,000 climbing ‘3 mountains’, Mam Tor, The Great Ridge and Win Hall Walk in one of the most beautiful places in the Peak District covering 11 miles to raise funds for the charity . View
